This purse was given to me by my very stylish aunt to sell. We talked about it (I love having an aunt who collects/reads up on vintage fashion with me!) and decided that we think it must be post-war and considered New Look. There's too much filligree on the clasp and too much detail that would have needed to be outsourced for it to be any earlier. Our thought is late late 40's early 50's tops. Yes?

Black and gold were popular colour combination in the late 1940s, you see it a lot on platform shoes, hats and evening dresses shot with gold thread etc. So my bet would be c. 1947-50.

That is exactly my thought too. To be safe I think I'll still do 40s and 50s in the title. I think the purse will attract the same types of people.

Thank you everyone!
