New TV Show

If you enjoy shows like ‘American Pickers’ or ‘Pawn Stars’, there’s a new one premiering Dec. 1 on A&E that sounds like it could be a lot of fun - “Storage Wars.” It is about people who buy the contents of storage lockers without having much of an idea what is inside of them - other than a quick peek inside the units with a flashlight.

They have those sales around here and I’ve heard somewhere that the best stuff tends to be in the back of the container, because that’s what gets store first. Of course... one man’s treasure, etc. If the show is well done I can see myself getting addicted.

There is another show with three generations of women who run an antique consignment shop in Illinois. I have forgotten the name but we watched the first two episodes and I can't watch any more. The grandmother was going on about something that was pure horse hockey - I think it was about people were smaller 'back then' referring to the 1910s... They also do an annoying patter that no dealer in their right mind would do where they tell the person bringing the item in what its worth in an ideal situation and then what they will give them! Has ANYONE ever had a dealer tell them that -- I haven't! And one person brought in a nice but not stellar 1920s bag and when she was asked what she wanted for it she said $30.00 and the dealer said I will give you $60.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another good one is Auction Hunters - also about guys who pick from storage units. There is a whole slew of them now and I seem to get roped into watching all of them.
