Newbie: Please help me date Davidow skirt!

Hi Guys--

I picked this little number up from a thrift shop and I was hoping to get some information to help me date it. I did a preliminary search online but didn't come up with anything too helpful. I thought I'd call upon your expertise to help me date this stunning turquoise Davidow skirt (which I suspect used to be part of a suit). My best guess is late '40s early '50s because of the skirt length. I tried to attach pics of the detailing. Please let me know if you need more pictures.

Hi! If you could post a photo of the skirt further away, it might help seeing it a bit better. But without seeing it better, I would venture to guess mid 70s. But that is just a guess.

Hi.

I suspect the skirt is more likely 60s. It looks fairly short for earlier. How does it close up? metal or nylon zip?

Memphis Vintage is probably correct. I should have said 60s or later.

It's got hook closure with a Talon Zipper.

My best guess is mid to late 1960's. The shape, length, closure (used commonly through the early 80's though) and color all look right. Also, the brand tag feels very MOD to me.

Davidow closed it's doors in 1973, so that gives you a latest possible date. I'd say 1960s myself, due to the color. They were conservative suits, so the length would not be extreme either way. If the zipper has metal teeth, it could be earlier.

I just checked: It's a nylon zipper.

I'll stick with '60s then - a '40s or '50s skirt would be longer, probably a different colour and have a metal zipper.
