Normandie Corde Purse....means of dating?

Hi All,
I've come upon a source that says this company was 'at it's height' in the mid to late 30s but was manufacturing between 1930-50s. Any way of dating this little purse?

Given the history of the ship, for which the brand was named, I would go with mid to late 30s, as you found.

I think it might be a little more modern - I'm thinking '40s. The poor Normandie ship met her fate in '42, so perhaps around then? Such a sad story, the beautiful Normandie.
