Another b-day find.. Any help would be great.. 30's or 40's?

I am pretty sure they didn't have those tags in the 30s - infact I thought it was later than 40s also, but I'm not very good with men's clothing.

Hopefully someone will come along that can help you. Cool suit!

I have seen that type tag quite early, but rarely. It sure looks like a sz 40 , which is a medium with a 34 waist. I don't know what the 50 refers to. Check the pants waist and it should measure 34". Are the hems finished or just pinked off?

As to date - later 40s at the earliest. But without handling it, these can be hard to date. I have been faked out by 1980s and 1990s DB suits at the stores until I feel the fabric and check the label and zipper. If the pants have a metal zipper or a button fly and a inseam watch pocket at the waist , then late 40s. If a plastic zipper, then late 1980s or 90s.
