my new favorite piece of office furniture. My hubby brought it home for me in the back of his truck. It was on the side of the road less than a mile from the house..

we call them "ground scores"!
 
If it doesn't work, you pull out the guts and make it into a cat bed. Then you sit and watch the cats on/in TV at night.

nope.. it doesn't work..

KK has a 50's model with the guts taken out then then her modern actual working tv inside

that seems like lots of work to me

I think it might just be a great place to set my coffee (i have it right behind my desk)
 
We need to have a workshop run by Dutch called "how to make your vintie wife happy". My hubby would never trash pick for me!
Broken pressback chair on the curb? Nope, wouldn't stop, even though I have 5 in the chair garden. Rusty wash tub? Nope, even though I grow stuff in them and use them to transport garden materials.

Good thing he has other qualities!

You know, you can pull the guts and face out and set your new TV in there, or a fish tank. I like Maggie's idea of cat TV, though.

One of my neighbors did that! She painted her's bright blue & it sits on her porch for her outside kitty.
The best part is that she's an oasis of crazy vintage cool in our very "upper middle class", straight & narrow neighborhood.

60s friends had a console TV cabinet with the picture tube replaced with a mirror. They used to watch it. Okay....WE used to watch it...
 
seems like one of those special items that needs to go on antique roadshow!! lol could turn out to be quite the find by hubby and truck :)
