finding out if this amount of fabric will make a circle skirt. I know it can't be made with the traditional circle in the middle, but can it be made with seams? The panel measures 90" wide with a 4 repeat and is 35" Thank you

remember, though, that a many many MANY novelty prints were sewn in a simple gathered waistline skirt, which yours could be done with.

this skirt image is from VFG member, Lizzie, The Vintage Traveler. It has a waistband, and a gathered skirt, simple, easy, very wearable, and it shows the print beautifully!

Agree with post above by vintagemerchant, it is very do-able with just a rectangular piece of fabric. Here is a photo of a piece of border fabric that I sold a few weeks ago:

And here is a skirt made from the exact same fabric in a different colourway by a clothing company in the 1950s:

As you can see the pattern is exactly the same and the skirt was made much like the one above.

She specifically asked about making a circle skirt, and my answer addressed her question. Of course she can make other types of things, including a different style of skirt. The misnomer seems to be that any full skirt is a circle skirt, which they are not. The answer to her question is still "no" there is not enough fabric to make a circle skirt.

I don't believe anyone was saying that all full skirts are circle skirts, vintagemerchant was just pointing out that a more common usage for this border fabric is a "simple gathered waistline skirt" which I agree with. Although her question specifically asked about circle skirts, I believe we were merely suggesting a different option that gives a similar effect and that does not require additional material. I do agree that there is not enough for an actual circle skirt but if she wants to make a gathered waistline as vintagemerchant suggested, then she would have enough.
