ocelot jacket?

My wife has a jacket supposed to be ocelot - it is labeled Karter Furs - it looks real old but the skin is in nice condition. How can I date it and what is the procedure for taking it into the US?

Hi there, The body of the jacket is ocelot and the collar is sheared beaver. We would need to see the shape of the jacket better to determine the age. On a person or hanging up.

From a google search it looks as if they are from Glasgow, Scotland.

Karter Furs was in Scotland and in London. Here's a newspaper ad from the Sunderland Daily Echo and Shipping Gazette dated Tuesday February 28th, 1933.

Here's a photo which shows J. Karter & Co. wholesale fur salon on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow, Scotland in 1923. J. Karter & Co. was was the full name of Karter Furs.
