I have a corde' purse that has a rather unusual Talon zipper. Everything appears normal...but then it ends with a zipper pull that is a large ring. When you look closely, the word "talon" is in the ring, with very art deco-y diamonds in between the words (it says Talon twice on each side)
I can't seem for the life of me to get a good enough close up and no longer have a scanner, although maybe I'll go to Kinko's
Does this sound familiar to anyone? I am always interested in pinpointing things very closely in year, so don't know if the zipper would narrow it down farther in the earlier part of the decade rather than just being merely the 1940s in general. Zippers can sometimes be tricky and as we know a lot of corde came out of the homes of expert home sewers...
I am pretty sure that all started in the 40s and haven't ever seen a reference that it was earlier...but please enlighten me.. I have seen corde labelled 30s but have never seen a book about them to confirm it (like a pattern - those seem to be from around wartime?)
