Oh My - Sandy Stagg Auction

I have just spent the last hour looking at the lots in THIS Sept. 17 AUCTION. In the '70's I used to arrive at Portobello Rd (and other markets) EARLY in the morning to search for vintage clothing from "rag ladies" and various wholesalers. I remember having chapped, freezing hands after searching through piles of cold dirty crepe (!!) dresses. I imagine I crossed paths with Sandy Stagg at some point. Vintage was SO plentiful "back then."

Oh wow!! Wouldn't you just love to go to that auction?

I also remember how plentiful vintage was in the 70s.
I hung out at the local Sally Ann and would find the
best treasures! I think at one point I had 5 beaded
20s bags (which I purchased for under $1.00 each).

Unfortunately, while I loved vintage then, I did not
appreciate its value. Most of the treasures I did
get then, I either gave away (or ashamed to
say, trashed - I was young and foolish).

Omg im so shocked shes closing her shop, ive been going in there for the best part of 15 years and i was in there not 3 months ago, and she never say a word about closing,
That was one of the very best b&m shops for antique clothing in London, ive brought lots from there in the past and she was the most friendly lady, i used to take my 10 year old daughter and she always said to megan my daughter to look around and feel the dresses which is quiet rare for a child to be told that in an antiques shop,
I hope her auction does really well and her items are always stunning.
