Ok to steam?

Hello everyone, I have a beautiful silk chiffon gown that I would like to steam. I have a professional type steamer, is it ok to steam the silk chiffon? Thank you!

Hi Sarah,
It should be fine. It's always best though when working with high end fabrics (or satin at any end ;) ) to be very careful about spitting. A nylon stocking over the steamer head helps a lot.
 
What Maggie said~ something to absorb the spitting really makes a difference - just be careful of the hot water that could run down the head to your hand - trust me, the voice of experience:cry:
