Oh my gosh! I LOVEEEEEEEEE this dress, but seeing as I'm a coupla sizes bigger than my manni, and this dress fits her perfectly... it's NEVER gonna fit me!:flaming:
Ok, anyhoo... what fabric do you think it might be? The fiancé thinks it's wool? Seems kind of thick. Also, what's a good way to describe this dress? I know paisley print used to be kind of popular - is it still? Made by Alison Ayres, is that anyone known? I didn't find her in the labels resource. Oh yeah, and the matching belt is the original! I love that the wear goes back and forth between 2 notches, maybe the owner let out a notch after her dinner parties ;)

That's pretty, too! Looks 60s, too. It looks like wool with gold metallic threading forming the paisley designs! Sorry, am too pooped to think of any KWs although I think metallic will get some hits.

I will look for (unless someone finds it first). The burn test. You take a tiny thread from the garment....hold it with tweezers over a sink or such just in case. If it burns and smells like burning hair, then it is silk. I have to look up the other results. One fabric melts, the other one the flame goes out before burning the thread. I will see if I can find it somewhere or someone else may chime in with the details...

I agree with Linda - 60's vibe.

My brain is a little fried from listing on eBay as well as the Mall this morning...but I would definitely put "GOLD" in the title.

Very pretty!
Good luck!
Christine
