I have a dress which I hope might be late 40’s or into the 50’s. The original hang tag says “Kapla Tone Frocks” and then it says “trade mark,” but when I search for that trademark - nada. I notice the tag has “trademark” written as two words and the US government has it as one word.

It’s a Bloomburg Fabric (“Sew Strong”) !!

Amanda, I don't know anything about the company but if the tag says "rayon and nylon" it has to be post '47 - is that when Jonathan said that nylon was made available for dresses? Certainly all the rayon and nylon mixes I've had were late '40s-early '50s.

Can we see pics of the dress please?

Hi Nicole, thanks. The dress certainly has 50's lines - and it is a size 16 1/2. It does have medium - small sized shoulder pads and a metal side zipper.

Not heard of this brand before though.

It's awfully cute, and even nicer that it's a larger size.

Late 40's I say. I am no expert, but I have seen similar dresses from that era. Love the sleeves.
