old leather smell

I use saddle soap (only if it's normal leather and not sueded leathers like doeskin, kidskin, etc)! If it's good enough for my horse stuff, it's good enough for vintage.

Just get a good old fashioned glycerine bar of it. I used it to restore a pair of 1860's riding boots and recently rejuvanated some vintage handbags.

I used to olive oil to rejuvenate some brittle, dried out bridles. It worked very, very well.
