Oleg Cassini Vintage Fur - Identification

Hi, I’ve just purchased my first fur. I am happy with the purchase regardless of what it is because I like the appearance. However, the seller said it’s mink, and I am curious what I have my hands on. The fur is soft, no shedding, and the label looks old. Can you help me identify the fur type and the decade it’s from?

Short, thick, brown underfur. Shiny, longer, reddish brown guard hairs. 3/4 length sleeves. Cannot find a fur label authority tag.

Designer: Oleg Cassini
Furrier: Gittelman’s Sons, 1212 Chestnut Street Philadelphia

Thank you!!

Hi Kelly and welcome to the VFG. Your pretty coat does consist of mink fur, it dates to the 60s, and while coloration can vary from monitor to monitor your description of the color sounds like mahogany brown.
