OMG-I think I ruined a fur jacket

Well I didn't. My cleaner did. It's a mink trimmed, short haired persian fur jacket. I thought it was fur, because it was so faux velvet feeling, kind of scratchy you know?

Anyway, the mink trim came out beautifully, but the jacket shrunk in the back, separating from the linking and tearing in some areas under the collar. The thing looks like it cinged or something. On the inside, now the that damn thing is completely separated from it's lining, it has a stamped LEATHER surface. It was real all along.

Do you think the cleaner can stretch it back out? I don't even want to take it back there. Up until now, they have been great. I have no idea how this could've happened.

sorry this has happened to you, such a shame.
I've had this recently in an imported raincoat. I think its beause of the interfacing NOT the fur...the inner facing and not the lining its between the two, and very close if not attached to the under side of the fur.......will have reacted to the cleaning method and that has shrunk and over heated so melted in some places....nothing they can do l'm afraid...well as far as l know...l wear mine for walking the dog, cos l love it so.....

sorry cant be more helpful

That persian lamb can be tricky! I agree it feels fake. I love to see it on vintage though as its such a cute patterned fur.
The only time I have ever seen leather/fur get ruined like what I think you are saying is from exposure to really hot steam or heat. That lamb fur has a really thick hide though maybe that attributes to what happened?
I'd certainly take it back to the cleaners though and see what they can do for you. Fur is finicky though once the leather is dry or warped there isn't a lot you can do for it.
