This wedding dress confuses me a bit. It has a side metal talon zipper. I don't think I've ever seen a dress quite like it. What year is it from? It has yellowed with age and I was wondering if I should chance cleaning it. What would you do? I swear I won't blame any of you if I try to clean it myself and it somehow damages the dress. I am leaning towards doing that anyway, but then again I don't want to damage it. :powwows:

Wow - you weren't kidding when you said it had yellowed! I think that's the most yellow white thing I've ever seen!

Can you look at the inside and see if the construction is original? It looks like it might have been altered as the skirt doesn't look like it was all part of the one originally - I would expect the whole dress to be made of the yellowed lace, not having white side skirts.

Re: age, I think it's '50s. There seem to be a lot of '50s wedding dresses around at the moment, it must be the generation that are now going into nursing homes/dying.

I just used retro clean for the first time on a very yellowed wedding dress. It worked really well. just google retro clean to order. It was a 40s dress with all of the buttons up back and I had no problems.

Others might have better idea or disagree...would def wait to hear all advice hear from the experts.
