Well this is a bit of a sneak preview but I have a question concerning the gallery picture for this great Adele Simpson piece I want to list on Thursday. I'm sorry if I've put this in the wrong forum please let me know!

I absolutely adore this piece and normally I do the double gallery pictures - a full length and a detail. With this I took a few photos of the top w/ jeans just to show off how versatile it can be and also to show off its truly amazing shape.

Being that it is a 2 piece suit do you think it would be "wrong" of me to show it w/ jeans and the detail photo for the gallery picture? I think that when seen that small it will generate more interest if people can see its shape, which is hard to do with the skirt. I almost feel like the jeans do it more justice. Here are my examples.

ok

The gallery picture will be in this format:

But here are the images I'm using:

DEFINITELY this one:

and then either one of these two:

Thoughts on this anyone? Am I worrying over nothing? I guess i just kind of feel like the jeans are cheating a bit...

Hi Anessa,

I dont think there is anything "wrong" in doing the jeans pic. I guess its just a matter of opinion. Personally I like the other one and of course the close up is great. I think you just need to know who your market is for this. The name recognition is there so if you are trying to appeal to a younger market then maybe the jeans would work. Interesting!

l think its s great idea to show vintage and it wearability with contemporary gear!! If you back this up with relevant text to maximise keywords, searches etc, you should do very well, include them all if you can afford the fees..

Boy thats a tough one. Can you use both the jeans and the full shot with a skirt and save the detail shot for the auction? Like Brenda said you really have to think about who you are marketing to. The one with the jeans is REALLY cute and trendy but I'd be much more likely to take a look at the one with the skirt.

thanks everybody! i think i WILL try the jeans shot. I mean, worst case scenario, if it doesn't sell then I will relist it w/ the skirt photo instead.

and about the "who is my target buyer" business - I completely agree. I'm hoping to try and reach both audiences - people who will actually know what an Adele Simpson is and then the younger set that just know what they like. Being a member of the younger set (just shy of 28) I kind of like the idea of trying to bring young ladies some options w/ finer garments AND just some fun ones. My stuff comes from private estates, antique malls, auctions and thrift, so I always have a variety and hope I'll be able to cater to more audiences that way. FUn fashion is fun fashion!

BTW - I am so in love w/ this piece I just want to keep it for ME! Sometimes the hard part about this job is selling the things you truly love!

What a FAB piece that is. I do so love it with the denim. But without denim it is mucho wonderful too!

By using the garment to show its contemporary use, you also introduce a whole new generation to vintage styles, and to the designer's they may know very little about. Maybe it is the style that catches their eye, but in the end it is the how that garment is made, and how it feels that changes their attitude towards clothing.

Wonderful pictures, btw!!
