Oscar Party Withdrawl ~

Is anyone having an Oscar Party?

I used to always host a theme party the "third friday of the month" (that was our excuse for a get together) and they were always so much fun, but our favorite was the Oscar Parties.

we had everyone get dressed up.. and serve hor'dourves & drinks, but we'd also have our own Oscars (thrift store bowling trophies, lol) and pass them out to our "winners" ~ for best dress, drama queen, comedian, etc.

I even had a small red carpet. The guys usually ended up playing cards while the ladies watched the show and drooled or bashed the evening gowns.

I really miss them, but the "gang" all kind of drifted apart.. anyone else doing one this year?

Aw, my best friend used to throw one every year but the same thing happened - friends drifted and others moved too far to drive in on a Sunday night.

This year I am watching it around the corner at my sisters on her boyfriends huge flat screen tv in hi-def - it'll be like I'm THERE!! lol

I was thinking of maybe making fondue or something just to make it 'special'.

I'll likely watch on the DVR (Tivo) since my two boys have about zero tolerance for awards shows. That way I can fast forward through the speaches I don't care about. :P
