Jack Layton, head of the New Democratic Party, the official opposition party in Canada lost his battle with cancer, this morning.

A brilliant politician, strong and charismatic leader, and most of all - an 'everyman'. Respect and admiration for Jack Layton transcended party lines and Canada weeps.

The above quote is from a letter that Jack wrote on Saturday to be released to Canadians if he should lose this fight.
