Many of you remember the tragic house fire that claimed the life of my sister and her husband's step-Grandmother. It happened a few days before Christmas in 2003.
Many contributions were sent in Nancy's memory to be used as a fitting memorial to her. Nancy was a beloved teacher of art to many students in many schools. At the time of her death, she taught in two schools. Last fall, Gerry invited family, friends and contributors to a workshop to help create a tile which would be incorporated into a mural at each school. The students of each school each made one, too. An artist-in residence prepared them, fired them and the finished product was unveiled two weeks ago at the schools. Here is a picture of my family in front of the mural in one of the schools.:
From left: Gerry( Nancy's husband), my neice Kalyn, her Dad Neil, David (my husband), in front of David is Gerry's Mom, then Me, my Mom is just behind me, then my sister in law Lyn and my brother Gary.
I was interviewed for the local freebie newspaper and they had a wonderful writeup and picture.
Just thought I would share......So many of you were there to lift my spirits and be there for support. And the flowers were absolutely wonderful!
Remember that life is too short.....don't let the "little things" in life become the biggest regrets of tomorrow......Gail
