P C I ?

Dear all,

I found this label (see attachment) in a (late) 1960s tunic/mini dress.
This is the only label and seems like a part brand/designer, part size label.
Any ideas what P C I means ?
I have no idea about the origin (country) of this tunic/dress.

Thanks in advance for your help !

With regards,

Belem

Hello Mary Jan,

The label is embroidered indeed.
The tunic/dress is of a printed fabric - probably polyester or something.
A photo will follow later today.

It's definitely vintage as is comes from the collection of my aunt (now in her 80s).
I received about 20 fashion items from the 60s-early 70s from her. She had a very good sense of fashion (and still has) and used to buy from quality boutiques in Amsterdam, Netherlands (some pieces have the boutique labels still attached and the addresses are in what used to be posh shopping streets in those days.). Not all pieces are from international known designers, some are local or do not have a designer or brand label. She can't remember anymore of those 'unsigned' items where exactly she bought them or if they once had a designer/brand label.
The size (42) indicates that it's continental and perhaps more likely from the early 1970s than the late 60s as I mentioned before. But it's definitely not a contemporary EU42, much too small for that. The print is a bit hippie style.

That is very pretty and the fact that it is an embroidered label makes me feel it may have been from a specialized boutique that was making items especially for their shop. The top does look 70s to me. I wish I had it in hand, that makes things easier much of the time.

Hello Mary Jane,

Quite likely as you suggest that this tunic/dress was made for a boutique by a local designer, and this label is therefore more or less unique as well.

Thanks for the feedback !
