Palm beach jacket tailored for Dayton's.

This is another jacket I came across in my grandparents house. It has no fabric tag, and the only care instructions say to get it dry cleaned. I've looked up some information about care tags, and I've seen a lot of stuff that says they weren't used before 1971, but that it was really up the the company if they wanted to label their garments. I also tried to look up Palm Beach, but I didn't have much luck. It also says that it was tailored for Dayton's, which I assume is the Dayton's that got bought out years ago by Macy's. I LOVE this jacket, and if anyone knows anything that would be amazing and I would be very greatful! Thank you!

Did you check all the pockets for tags? they often have some in the inside chest pocket.

No tags in any of the pockets, though the right pocket has what looks like coin pockets or something.

That sort of tweed is from the 70s.

we've carried a few Palm Beach label jackets (from a couple of different department stores) in the past: they are typically classic cut, well made, and, they sold well.

Great jacket! I am a bit of a Palm Beach nerd because the cloth was manufactured here in Maine until around 1956.

Here is a link to an article that gives a nice history of the Palm Beach company. Early suits from the company, made of their Palm Beach cloth, are very sought after today.
