Particular name for this fabric?

I know this is a faille as a general descriptive word, but anything else I should be adding to that? The photo is of the reverse too (satiny feel)

It is hard for me to see in this pic but it doesn't looked ribbed to me which would indicate faille. Is it silk? Heavy silk? If so structured silk.

Doesn't look faille at all, looks like heavy satin.

Sorry, my rubbish photo. Definitely ribbed, the shiny you can see is the underside.

I hate black, as does my camera :(

It is hard to tell without feeling it. Is it weighty with a fluid drape? From what I can see it looks like a crepe backed satin but you said it is ribbed which throws me.

And it has overcast seams. Is the construction as good as the seam finish? Claire

Melody, it's exactly what I would say if it weren't ribbed - and reversed!

Yes Claire, it's very nicely constructed and finished with mainly handstitching, pinked edges etc. I was very disappointed to not find a label in it, lol!
