Pauline Trigere coat

I was lucky enough to find two Pauline Trigere coats this week. Both of the coats bear her larger signature label, not the licensed one. This first coat is very heavy and stiff. The buttons and loops are completely hidden underneath an extension of the front opening. Tiny tucks start at the back of the shoulder and flare out to make the coat look like a cape from the back. I've never seen anything like it. It's quite ingenious!

The coat is in near mint condition and still has the string from the original tag hanging from the sleeve, so it was probably never worn. I'm dating it to about 1964. Just thought you all might like to see it.

That coat is just amazing. I love the way it is made. It seems to fit almost every era of style in the design of it.
