Howdy. Happy Thanksgiving!

Checking in to see if my vintage clothing radar has broken or not.

For men's Wear I've always gravitated towards the really bold stuff like the shark skin suits, but where I used to live I just never found the good basics.

Anyway, I've never found too much in the way of good cardigans and I'm starting to find them. And sometimes they are pretty murky on an exact date because the style didn't change very much

Am I right that this mohair cardigan is earlier sixties or am I a little off on this?

Thank you muchly. Also, I see Keen Man sweaters off and on, but little about the actual company. I guess it's time for me to go down one of those rabbit holes and see what I find.

And per usual, all the reds and oranges are really hard to take photos of unless they're a definite burnt orange or a definite red. This is orangey but not quite a seventies burnt orange but not light pumpkin either. Closer to fiestaware poppy but slightly muted than it is to Fiestaware tangerine. I don't get much help with colors around here in the orange red pink spectrum because my husband has slight color blindness in that area and thinks my pink coat is red.......

I have so many cool pieces I keep going between selling them and saving them all up the best stuff for opening an 100% vintage shop again but it will get to out of control by then.

Lovely cardigan! Yes, I would agree with you that this falls into the early-mid 60's range. That is what I would date it to if I were describing it. :)

I searched for information about Matt Andrews for Keen Man and the only mentions/ads I found were from 1964 to 1970. From about the late 1960s on I began to see other Matt Andrews items, but no further mention of Keen Man. I don't know if it was the same Matt Andrews of Keen Man, but the late-1960s ads were in the same Tennessee, Cincinnati, Louisville-area papers in which I primarily found the Keen Man and Andrews ads. After about 1968, then, I found Matt Andrews neckwear, wallets, golf balls, golf carts, belts, "tee-shirts and briefs," and shirts, of course. The latest ad I saw for Andrews items was in 1989.

I need to start searching the old newspapers again. (I found an interesting mention of my grandfather in one once. ) Simple internet searches are so bogged down by shopping ads these days it's more challenging to find things. Thanks so much for that research. I've seen quite a few sweaters but nothing more.

would LOVE to see what you've been saving....

I'll have to take a picture when I get more organized and get it all in one place. Off the top of my head I still have a Walborg Dance original, a corset gunne sax, a Vera Neumann dress, a couple miscellaneous forties jackets in my personal closet, and I'll have to do the mental rundown of whatever else is there. I have 2 Diana Freis dresses as well but I'm definitely not attached to them like the 40s jacket and the Walborg. I'll have to remember what else is here
