Peggy Barker - Plaid Dress

Now that I am digging through the hundreds of items I have collected and am getting prepared to photograph them and post them, drilling down to the right date as well as pricing gets very "sticky".

First Id like to better date this dress. Im thinking late '60's early '70's... thoughts?

I see lots of this label around, just wish to narrow down the date if I can as well as the fabric if at all possible.

Also, I see dresses by this designer from $16.00 to $60 at online vintage shops(the most amazing and intricate one is the cheapest and on etsy) to one on ebay with with a "Buy it Now" option at $245.00... so maybe there is something I should know? :P

Peggy Barker, Union Tags, feels like a wool like material, no fabric tag, absolutely pristine.

Excuse the pics.. I am experimenting with my new lenses and lighting system, so the focus is more on the lighting not the item at the moment.

Eli, I had something very similar in 1975, and another in 1976 so I'll date as mid '70s. I think a white blouse would have been worn underneath yours (mine were cotton sundresses and I really loved them).

The style has returned to fashion recently.

Cool and thank you... Lynne actually found an ad for this specific item and sent it to me... very cool.

Digging through 50s stuff today and my old 70's stuff. I have square dance dresses from the 50's, no idea why, how or when I got them.

I found two Young Edwardians in my "stuff that wil lnever fit again" box and a couple of 1970s tapeze dresses from Bonwit Teller (which actually may fit now). My Aunt worked at Gunne Sax for years... and I just realized I donated all of my Gunne Sax dresses to Goodwill in the 80s when I was working in the punk rock biz and thought they were god awful. Man I could kick myself for that today!
