Hello.
I would appreciate your opinion, please?

I am selling this Pendelton Cape with Capelet that may be attached and worn over the Cape. I think it would be amazing over denim.
It's a fun piece and hope someone will enjoy it.

I spotted a small moth hole in it today. My drycleaner can repair this.

Am I better selling it as is or should it be repaired?
I think this is from the 60's?

Thank you.

(I'm hoping to be able to provide answers not just ask! Much lyrics appreciated!)

Hello.
It's about the size of a #2 pencil of the lead inside.
It is on the side under the arm.

I think it's definitely fixable. I've looked at it several times and didn't see it before today.

I am unsure what ask for it and if I should repair it first. I read the great tutorial here on repairs. I love to sew, especially hand sewing when I have time and think I could weave in the threads.

Thank you for your reply!

Well, if you'd like to reweave it, more power to you! It sounds like a minimal issue that many of us would simply disclose in selling it.

If you haven't already, consider doing a freeze-thaw-freeze on your garment so you can be confident that whatever moth ate your cape hasn't left any descendants behind. You want to protect your other woolens and be able to give a buyer reassurance about their own closet.

Thank you, MagsRags!
Such great advice! I will do it.

I freeze items after traveling to deter bedbugs. When I return, I put my suitcase in a garbage bag and freeze it for several days.

Thank you. Such a wonderful forum here!

It's hard to say for sure without seeing things up close - but possibly early 70s?
Do you have any pics of the buttons? Esp the gold ones...
Also - again, I really can't tell from here... but - are you sure the two pieces are meant to go together? It looks like they're different patterns/colors? And the buttons look different as well - but maybe that's intentional? How does the capelet attach to the cape? If by buttons - do they match the other buttons on either piece?
Maybe I'm totally off - but just tossing my thoughts in there :)

Hi, kristine!! Thank you for your response.

The fabrics are of same bolt, they match perfectly. It must be my lighting.

The buttons match, no question about it.
I will add photos of it buttoned up and buttons.
It's a fun set.

I could see it over a red turtleneck and matching red pencil skirt. :)

More to come... :)
