I LOVE this matching shrug... it just seems to make the dress! It's a cotton velvet but such a soft and pliable cotton velvet.. I would love to know what this was originally purchased for... what exactly was worn with it...

Although this song is from the 60s, makes me thing of "She Wore Blue Velvet."

Very pretty and I, too, wonder what this was worn to.
 
Blue Velvet is also one of my all time favorite movies...
The blue is such a pretty shade, definate periwinkle tones to it...
If only vintage clothes could talk!! We all deal with or wear so much vintage sometimes I think we forget to wonder who originally bought it, who has since worn it, how was it worn, to what, and what was the reaction to the people in their lives when they first saw them in it.
Perhaps she was proposed to in this dress, perhaps she fell in love, perhaps she was showing off her tan from a vacation, perhaps it took her a month to find the perfect pair of gloves for this dress..

Bit of a prattle but I love this part of our business!
