Persian Lamb Coat

I bought a coat at Salvation Army. Mint condition. 20 dollars. It's persian Lamb ? with fur collar and cuffs. Silk satin print lining. Black. Fur trim is shiny on the tips, and reddish. Mink ?One name says Dorothye Stone. The neck label says H Liebes, California. A seam label looks very old. The label says summer treated ? fair labor. S727790 is the number on it. The hooks are the type that go into a round hole that is rigid with a kind of grograin around it. The pocket edge is grograin. This was a find. Any ideas on age ? Liebes is out of business I imagine. I don't wear fur, so it will be sold.

I can't see the detail of the fur well enough in your picture to feel confident in saying so, but there's a possibility the black "fur" is faux, meant to mimic persian lamb.

I had an early 60s coat like this, made of faux black persian lamb, with brown (real) mink collar. The coat had fur hooks in front (which is what you seem to be describing), but the lining was not a furrier's lining (often they are a jacquarded satin, and monogrammed with the owner's name).

An off-the-rack coat wouldn't have "custom" touches like that, so that's one clue. Also, if you can peek behind the lining, you can see if there's a suede backing to the "fur" (ie if it's a pelt) or not.
 
yeah,, from the not so experienced the length looks 50ish and the style more 60ish so I am judging pretty close to that mark ...late 50s early 60s?

Anyine else or am I just flubbing it?
 
Thank you cmpollack, and Jluthye. The monogrammed Dorothye Stone label is very fancy. I don't want to misrepresent the coat if I sell it. The lining is such high quality, and does have raised embellishments (thread).
The real thing is said to weigh a lot. This one is a medium weight.
I would hate to squash it into a flatrate box. Sometimes, we run across a treasure. Most of the coats are moth eaten out here, but this one isn't. I am going to get a peek at what's under the lining..I will use my optivisor, so I can restitch my clips. I will let you know what I find.
 
I did the burn test. Burned about 10 of the black hairs, and the scent of burning hair confirmed my suspicions about the real fur. I can feel the smooth hide beneath the 2 layers of outer and inner lining. I checked a couple of furs at the Sal Army, and they featured super linings, and scripted owner's names. It's flared like a swing coat, and a Vintage clothing merchant gave me some good advice. Thanks to each of you for helping me. I have been bitten by the Vintage Bug.
