I had a WONDERFUL day yesterday at the Philadelphia museum's Perelmen building. I strongly encourage those of you in the Philly vicinity to check it out some time this summer. I heard about the exhibit Shopping in Paris: French Fashion 1850–1925 (which runs thru Oct) from the Zuburbia email. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was another fashion exhibit running concurrently in the same building: Hello! Fashion works of Kansai Yamamoto.

I was so overwhelmed seeing these exhibits at one point I actually started to cry! I think it was overstimulation of my vintage cortex! ;)

Please check out the museum site: http://www.philamuseum.org/exhibitions/current.html?exLocSort=2 and again if you are in NY or DC, Philly is only a hop and skip so be sure to visit. I drove over an hour to get there and it was well worth it!

There's a name for that but I have forgotten what it's called. It apparently happens a lot in Florence and Paris and places where people are overwhelmed by the amount of beauty they are surrounded by.

We Italians cry at everything--weddings, funerals, museums, movies, birthday parties, sad things, happy things.... We're an emotional people, for sure!

I'm a little less than 2 hours from there; maybe I can get a free day to drive down. I love going to Philly; I'd rather go there than Baltimore, which is a lot closer.
