Pickelhaube - An Unanticipated Militaria "Vintage Accessory"

As a long-time hunter/gatherer of vintage clothing, I never anticipated acquiring a pickelhaube (above.) The internet provided TONS of information about this helmet, most of which I found quite fascinating, so I wrote A BLOG about it for the Vintage Fashion Guild. There are more than two sites devoted to this helmet alone, and of course lots of forums discussing World War I. I'm not really a history buff, but this one pulled me in.
