These are posted together because I got them together and all but the navy St Michael's knit are handmade, several from the same pattern with slight variations like length, sleeves and buttons for decoration, they all have metal zips which I have shown.

The hints and tips guide says Lightning zips are Canadian - so how did they end up in England? Would they have imported them in the 60's or is it more likely someone emigrated?
I would also like to know if all of these are from the same period or if you think some are earlier/later and reasons - I'm looking to learn here as they all look pretty much the same to me.

This first my favourite, for the colour and pattern, and is slightly longer on me than the others. I've worn it for the photo because flat the pattern disguises the design. The Lightning zip is shown below.

Pinkcoke, I would call that a shift, or perhaps an A line shift.

I'm confused though: are these original dresses or ones that you've made up out of vintage fabrics? If the latter, make sure you're clear to buyers that they aren't original dresses. If the latter, I would just call them '60s style dresses but if you want to pin it down more I would put the style in the mid '60s.

It's a cute dress, and I like the fabric.

No these are original dresses, this one has a lightning metal zip in a lime green colour. When I can get the pictures I was going to post all the dresses & zips as there are two other brands of original metal zips.

In with the lot I also recieved a St Michael's knitted dress from Marks and Spencers of the same period. Navy top half and navy and white fair isle patterned bottom half.
