Pierre Cardin Suit - 60s???

The label on this one is confusing - I would have expected to see another label with the coat, but there is none. The pants may have been shortened at one point, are fully lined and do up at the back. The coat does up with metal snaps and is fully lined as well. Do you think this is mid to late 60s or later and licensed?

Many thanks!

Looks late 60's to me... But that exclusively designed... Has got me suspicious..... Could this have been a pattern???

Yup, it looks like the stuff he was doing in 1969. I have some black and white fashion photos from the 60s of French wool designs and this might be in one of them. I sold off about half and kept the other half... I hope it wasn't in one of the ones I sold!

I dont know.. It looks good and I just bought a late 60's cardin coat.... Just he liscenced himself out so much I get suspicious. The pant length looks good... Love the whole suit....

Thanks everyone!!! I hope so too, Jonathan!

Thanks Mary Jane - will do.

Do you have any thoughts on the label - could it have been from a pattern or was this one used for the American market ???

I looked and didn't find it in either the ones I kept or the ones I sold where I kept the jpgs. Oddly enough it doesn't look like any of the Cardin shots I do have but it does look like other designers from fall 68...

:D based on that, then I guess I can make the assumption it's legit and add to the resource. I may even hop down to the Gazette one of these weeks and check out winter 68, 69 etc and see if I come up with anything.
