Pierre Cardin Terry Robe Dating

Hello, I am not sure how to date this robe based on the labels. It is a very heavy quality terry cloth with two sets of belt loops. The labels say: Pierre Cardin Paris New York - size Fit All - 86% cotton 14% polyester - wpl 8259 - style 9978 2209. Thanks in advance for any info you can shed on its age.

Hi Susanandco - nice robe. My first thought was mid to late '70s but that very detailed label puts it more into the '80s I think.

We don't have that label in the label resource, perhaps you could submit it after a date had been determined?

Sounds good. I was thinking the same, but then can find no others like it.

Ah, that's interesting! The file name suggests that one is from '81.

Actually I found the item your label is from and I'm wrong: '81 refers to the year of the donation to the Met Museum. It's from a '69 trench coat.

I still think yours is early '80s, perhaps late '70s, based on the very helpful label though.
