Please can you help me date this blouse?

I think this is mid 40s, but I am feeling very unsure of myself today! Maybe it's a little earlier? Pale blue silk crepe, hand done ladderwork (? can't think of terms at the moment - sorry I'm rushing!) detail, pintucks to both shoulders, cut glass buttons. Collar disappears at the back to almost nothing. I love it, am just not sure!

Good grief that picture is enormous. Oops, will resize it later on :BAGUSE: Thanks in advance - now off on school run :)!!

Sweet blouse! And, as you know, I'm hopeless with anything pre 60s.

Awwwww! That is a real cutie pie!! I would probably date it to the early 40s, but I would be waffling in a range from late 30s to mid 40s. In cotton or linen I would call the little ladders drawn work.

I'm not really much help here!

Thank you Maggie, that's about where I'm at after a few more cups of tea! (shoulders made me think more late 30s, but the sleeves later if that makes sense to anyone but me!)
Oh yes - drawn work is good! Would I use fagotting do you think?

Fagotting is used to denote embroidered ladders...from a tad bit of research in the past. So you'd see a little more work involved in fagotting, with tiny crocheted ladder rungs and embroidered stitches. If the stairs of the ladder are threads without any weaving/lace then they are drawn work.

But I'm no expert on this!

That looks like drawnwork. I am think with the delicate feminine handwork, the color and the very fitted shoulder and armhole and the length of the sleeve, that it's a 50s blouse.
