I have these two antique items and I know they are obviously early 19th century...can anyone help me pin down a decade for each?? Sometimes I have trouble with Victorian/Edwardian and noticing the differences :-\
Nicole B. (I took the pictures quickly so they are not so good)
The Jacket is more A Line so it was obviously loose fitting and would fit over a large skirt...it's a stunning wool/cashmere blend possibly with an ivory silk lining...when I'm looking at it the details do convey a military inspiration. Does this help? I did sone readership also on B Altman and Co... I'm sure that this cape/jacket was VERY expensive in its hay day
This jacket has both the antique touches, and bit of a modern look to the construction. I think it may be a morning jacket, meant to be worn to/at at the breakfast table and for morning activities in the home.
Haha! I love the drooling face! Would I be a morning jacket if its made of heavy wool? I put the cape/jacket on and it's warm with a silk lining...what time period would it be from?
