Can anyone help date either this jacket or the LABEL? It is made of a synthetic rubbery black material on the outside and an orangish-tan color on the inside. 4 "snappable" buttons in front and two button-less pockets in front. 2 large inside pockets. Breathable back with flap. (shown in pictures) It also has a corduroy-style cloth collar that is a dark blue in color, (i've seen similar HERCULES jackets from the 30's made w/same collar)
Even the style of the jacket would be helpful, but a year and type would be amazing. Thanks!!!

!!!!!!THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!!

I am sure someone will come along and help you but please stop making new posts for this jacket.

You have 3 started for it in less than 8 hours.

I am going to delete the other 2--stick to this one. Thank you!

One thing I learned is that sometimes, you just don't find information on a label no matter how hard you look. I am assuming you have "googled" and tried other research methods?

I am having a hard time discerning much else about your coat from the photos - there isn't too much that is distinctive about the style. It seems like it would be some sort of uniform or workwear.

Sometimes you just have to do your best using the information available for dating.

i have googled and searched countless archives and posted on many forums. i just figured there would be an actual Hercules expert that would know for certain which year(s) that label was produced. apparently i was wrong :(

thanks for attempting to help, everyone.

I don't think it looks any older than 60s...those rubbery faux leathers were popular in the 60s and 70s, and the silhouette of the man on the label strikes me as a 70s look as well.

well the Hercules brand was discontinued in 1965, so it definitely isn't 70's......

my best guess is 60s, too. with the boxy cut and corduroy collar.

i agree with msgrossmyer. there were a zillion manufacturers, and often you can't find any info on them. also, unless it's something knock-down amazing, it's not worth spending a lot of time on them.

it's a work jacket, and is more than likely from the 60s.
