Please help identify these boots

Hello, I am trying to identify the brand and make of these boots. The only info I have about them is: year bought is around 2001 (could be older). Most likely Italian make. They are suede leather.

I was told they could be from Max Mara but that is not certain. Will be gracious for any tips or help with identifying these boots.

If they aren't marked by the maker, you will probably never know... Italian footwear makers are PLENTIFUL, and many are contracted to make footwear under store labels. When that order is filled, they make a few more for speculative sale through other shops... its very difficult to pin down who made what, and if they were sold through Max Mara, they would be marked as Max Mara because the brand is important. I have a similar pair that I know was bought in Milan in 2004, and the only reason I know who the maker is because its on the box. The boots have no label at all - the maker is Vergelio -- excellent boots, well made, never heard of them...
