Please Help Me Date & Describe Christian Dior Suit. I'm Overwhelmed!

Hello!
This is my first time here and from what I've read, everyone is so friendly! I love visiting forums like this! Nice to meet you all!
Here's my story:
I visited an estate sale with a good friend of mine and I came across this Christian Dior Suit, Dress, Jacket ensemble. I picked it up with my Mother in Law in mind as she's a tiny woman (compared to me). The Dior set is a size 8. Turns out my Mother in Law wears a 10-12. So this ensemble has been sitting around here for almost a year! So, in an effort to get organized and cleared out, we had a garage sale. I priced the Christian Dior at $75 which is just about what I paid for it. I had lots of offers but no one wanted to pay close to what I paid for it. I'd now like to sell it on an online venue. I'm not asking for a value from you all, I just need to know the basics about this set!
I will tell you what I know and post pictures. I tried to click on the link in the helpful post for newbies, but it said I don't have permission to access the link.
The Christian Dior Label says "Christian Dior, Boutique, Paris" & has a square label attached that says "Made in France" "Fabriqu'e en France" 61H2706400 and a size table that says F 38, GB 10, D 36, USA 8. The reverse of this label says "74% Viscose, 26% Silk" "Doublure - Lining" "100% Sole - Silk" "DRY CLEAN ONLY" and some cleaner's symbols.
The color of the set is a gorgeous lemon-yellow with a tinge of lime, if that makes sense. It has shoulder pads under the lining. The inside of the right panel of the short jacket has a CD in script and the reverse left panel of the sleeveless dress has a Christian Dior label. The straps have braided strings that snap to help hold the bra strap in place. No lapels, but has four big, round buttons to close the jacket.
I need to know in what year or era this set was made. Anything special I need to say about it? Is it Couture? etc.
Okay, I'm going to try to upload a few pictures now. I don't have a bright sunny area in my house so I used my camera flash and hall lights.
Thank you in advance for looking and reading this story!

Oops. I don't know how I got double pictures in there! sorry!
And I'll have this taken to the cleaners to be cleaned and pressed prior to placing it at the online venue. :-)

Hi there

Firstly, thanks for alerting us to this error:
I will tell you what I know and post pictures. I tried to click on the link in the helpful post for newbies, but it said I don't have permission to access the link.
We recently updated the instructions, but didn't change that link. I've changed it now so it works, but it looks like you managed to upload your photos fine.

Re the suit.

It is not couture. A couture garment wouldn't be labelled boutique, or have size labels.

You might call the colour, chartreuse.

I think it maybe 1990s? Perhaps. Others will know better than me!

I agree with 1990s, and yep - it's a boutique piece, not couture. But it is made in France, and that's a plus. Vicose is also called rayon, so it's mainly viscose blended with silk .

Thank you for responding! I know absolutely nothing about designer clothes. My 24 y.o. daughter was thinking 1980's because of the big buttons , but I told her it wasn't flouncy enough for the 80's!
So. Can you tell me at least if I overpaid for it at $75? Just a hint? A resource to get an idea? ;-)

I agree with the others and date it to early '90s. It's a lovely and classic suit and you should be able to sell it for more than you paid for it. Have a search on ebay for completed listings and see if you can find something similar.

The information in your post is excellent and you've been very thorough - well done!

We don't have that label in the LR, if you'd like to add your label pic to this thread, it helps people date their garment by label.
