Please help me figure out this patterns process!

Hi,

I have a mini trapeze dress made of woven cotton from the 60s. Trying to figure out if the paisley pattern is painted onto the woven dress or if the fabric has been dyed first.

the whole pattern - paisley/colours was printed onto the woven fabric, which was probably a very light neutral colour originally, it looks like linen.

Agree with Melanie: it's a printed fabric.

I'd call that a baby doll dress.

Thanks, also trying to figure the fabrication, it's heavy...having a blank moment on fabric for some reason lol. Went back and forth on whether is was cotton or linen and didn't feel like doing a burn test.

And yes the neutral color is on the inside of the dress.
