Please help me name this 60\'s dress!

Hello Everyone

Very happy to have found you all, wondering if someone could help me name this dress please.

The owner says someone told him it could be a Courreges. From my googling I think it may be a Paco Rabanne?

The squares are made from a sort of tin I would guess, not plastic. They are silver on the back, black on the front. The little links are plastic.

It's definitely 60's cos that's when he got it handed to him.

It may not be any designer at all and could just be something that someone made for a photo shoot maybe...

Any help appreciated.

Certainly looks Rabanne-esque. Does it have paint toward the bottom or is that lighting?

It looks to me like a spray painted top half of a star in neon-ish green.

Many of Paco Rabanne's metal link dresses are very 'tightly' constructed and have armholes that are cut much smaller than this dress which is more like a tunic. The spray star has been added.

There are Paco Rabanne 'Do It Your Self Dress Kits' from the 1970's and later and there are fake kits being sold.

Did Rabanne use squares? I've only ever seen circles.

Oh yes, pretty much every geometric shape. There's lots of references online.

The quality is not Rabanne but it is a cool piece. I vote for hand made, maybe an art or fashion student if it was not a kit.

....better wear a body suit under that one and no sitting , ouch!
