This clutch belonged to my mother and I've had it for at least 30 years myself. There are no tags in it and it does kind of look like it might be hand sewn in some places, but I'm not really sure as I really do not do the purse thing and I know less about sequin clutches lol. I plan on trying to sell it eventually on ebay but I do not know how much I should charge or what is the lowest i should take for it. i was hoping that someone here maybe able to give me an idea. I've attached some pictures of it. Thanks for your help.

Hi Len, and welcome to the forums.

These are generally from the '60s and hand beaded (rather than sequins), yours has lots of pearly beads, quite nice. We can't help with values here, as per forum rules (there are too many variables) but if you look at closed ebay auctions you should be able to find something similar to see what they go for.

Hi Len

We can't help with pricing. Once you have better idea what it is, your best bet is to search eBay completed listings to get an idea of what similar items go for.

It is beaded, rather than sequined. It is a combination of seed beads and bugle beads.

I believe the chain handle that can be folded in is typical of the 1960s, but do wait for other opinions. The style with that chain is called a 'convertible clutch', eg it can be used as a clutch held in the hand, or with the chain out be worn over the wrist, giving you two styles of bag.

Thanks for the responses. What search term do you think would be the best to use on ebay to search for closed auctions with something similar?

Awesome thanks :)

Is it normal to not have a tag in it to know what manufacturer or designer created it? How do I find out if its hand made or if its made by a firm?

A high quality frame will sometimes have the frame makers mark impressed into it, but you don't find them often.

Awe crud oh well ok. :) I'm trying to raise money to pay off a student loan so I can go back to school and finish my degree, I guess every bit helps. :) Thanks all for your help.
