Please help on this men\'s suit!

I am totally clueless on the date for this. The jacket is styled more like a womens and longer, with fabric covered buttons and fabulous tailoring.

The pants don't have any belt loops, but they have big pockets in the front.

The pants have the two buttons on the size to adust the waist.

The fabric lining of the coat is saying early 50's to me. Is there a name for this style, the way the seams come down the front, they do the same on the back down to the double vent (is that what you call it??)

SORRY for all the pictures, definatley an elegant and well tailored suit...but how do I describe it?

Thanks!

I could be wrong but I'm getting more of a 1960s vibe, the construction of the pants almost feel mod to me. Interested in hearing other's opinions...

60's was my first reaction also.

It would look better on a 'bustless' mani tho! :o

State how many pockets, inside & out, the half-back lining, high-waisted pants, sans loops, long zipper. Lining-faced double vent.
Also, make sure you put the label words inside your description and, the feel/weight of the material(wool)

Thanks! Now that you say that is does appear MOD looking to me, especially since the waist is tapered in about on the jacket. It measures 42-38-42.

I have one of the plastic hanging 1/2 men bodies maybe I will try it on that.

With the western style pants pockets, the patteren lining and the double back vents, anfd the very wide lapels and wide upper collar, it's probably early 70s. Are the pants slightly flared?

I must say that Princess/Prince??? front seaming is distinctly odd and must have been a trendy fad very of the moment. As was the 4 button closure, which you don't see again until recently.

Until I saw the label, I thought it was a woman's suit!

LOL....my first thought was a woman's suit also! I would not really say that the pants have a flare, if they do it is "very" light, they have a 3" hem in them and it appears not to have any extra fabric gathered in there. It is pretty straight around the inside.
