please help with 80s (??) cloak

Hello again All!
I'm wondering if anyone can help with this (in my opinion!!) rather fabulous cape/cloak (don't want to call it a poncho!!) which I think must be from the 80s. I don't know a lot about fabrics and don't know how to describe it - its quite soft and drapes nicely - but that's all I'm finding to say about it! Any comments appreciated as always!

Hmmm...it's hard to tell, is the black area a bit velvety feeling? The ground is a metallic weave most likely lurex and I would be willing to bet it's lurex and rayon but can't say for sure without feeling it. If it is all woven it would be a metallic brocade but I don't think so...it looks flocked to me that means the black area would have been applied (like a print). Can you show the back of the fabric, that would help a lot. I would definately say paisley for the pattern.

Thanks for that! I don't have it here with me at present so will have to check. From memory, its not really velvety feeling, its quite smooth. I'll try for a better picture when I get hold of it again in the next couple of days, but I think it is all like the little piece of the back that you can see in the picture of the label.

Very pretty, and I agree with 80s and paisley pattern. Not sure if it's lurex or lame?

I had a party dress in the late 80s in black lace with gold lurex "frosting" accents and wore a fringed shawl much like this one with it... (Yours is much cooler, with that button in front, though...:sunshine: )
