Please help with date on this OOAK Jacket.

I'm hoping style and construction of this OOAK Jacket will provide some clues as to the date. Beautifully textured fabric has Hand sewn black trim and lining attachment. Diagonal stitching to reinforce under collar. Triangle piece added under arm, similar to 50s underarm diamond. Sleeves are full length and narrow as they move toward end of sleeve. No shoulder pads, nor sign of shoulder pad. I have not clue on this one... :puzzled: Hope you do!

You're very welcome, thinking on it, that's the only period I can see such a bright shade of red as this in, except for 70's, but none of the styling I associate with 70s is there. The collar has a bit of a sailor look about it. I have a 50's/60's beaded knit cardigan with a similar lining - I'll have to go and check the sleeve shape now!

Can you tell what material it's made of? It looks like textured polyester and hand finished, probably home made. I see an older lady wearing it, perhaps '70s and I think the inserts are about increasing the size rather than the '50s inserts which are about increasing movement.

Nicole, I did a burn test and it appears to be a poly. You are the Sherlock Holmes or Miss Marple of vintage fashion mysteries! I think it's a fun jacket, but maybe that's because I'm well into my "older lady" period. :hysterical:.
Thank you Detective Nicole!
