Please - how do I get this \'74 Valentino authenticated??
Hi Everybody,
My first contact with this wonderful site was when I sought information about obtaining an authentication for this 1974 Valentino dress. For some reason I realize that the photos never were posted, so here they are, along with the history.
In 1974 I bought this at Michael's consignment store on Madison Avenue, NYC, for $200. I also recall it had an original price tag on it that was in the vicinity of $1,000. At the time, it had the old Valentino label in it. At some point between 1974 when I wore the dress quite a number of times, and about 1990 when it was put into storage for 20 years, the tag disappeared. I didn't even realize it until I took it out of storage last year. Since then, despite emailing every imaginable remaining email address associated with Valentino, absolutely nobody from Valentino emailed me back with any information whatsoever. :fainting:
Can ANYBODY assist me in getting this silk dress authenticated as 70s Valentino couture?
