Christian Dior and the "NEW Look" is the obvious one to me.

I looking to find someone who might not be as well know but still has a very striking style.

Why! because I think it would be interesting to create a photo shoot in the styles of (some one) but who?

instead of saying this is a typical 19?? dress etc

Thank you for thinking
Pauline.

Now that would be making thing easy.....

OK I will give you some clues.

Era 1960's 70's...

Was a main competitor of Halston... But Halston was better know because he was a better business man.

He hated zippers

LOL!!!!!!!

Yes Sant'Angelo!!!
In the 70's some of his things were simular to Halston....

The liscensing I think almost sent him into obscurity...

He is someone worth studying!!!!!

Hi,

Thanks for that info. I did not know that about GSA. I do remember that Pierre Cardin "merchandised or sold" his name to J.C. Penny (I think it was in the 70's?), and his reputation went down from there. He cheapened his name forever when he did that. That's why I thought you meant him.

I bought a GSA pencil skirt suit in about 1985-1986. (I still have it as it is a timeless style). I had no idea his stuff was considered so collectible now. Time passes and even the "ordinary" becomes the desired. That's what I love about this business!

Sant'Angelo seemed like ths free spirit from what I have read about him. My brothers mother in law actually met him. She was a fitting model in the 60's and 70's in NYC. I have yet to see her wardrobe. She is a bit of a wack a doodle...
