Any major increases over Thanksgiving? What sold the best? What did people have the most interest in?

What about now, post-Tanks Gibbons? What are your buyers looking for and actually buying?

Any changes noticed from last year?

What are YOU looking for when buying right now, both online and off-line?

THIS IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!

I've done well with mature party dresses (not prom-like), of course, that's all I've been listing, so I have no real control group for the experement.

I've not had time to LIST anything new... but I've sold 3 things out of my mostly dormant, mostly empty ebay store since T-day.

My usual mix of stuff was doing slightly better before Thanksgiving. I was rather disappointed in some high-expectation items that ended shortly after Thanksgiving. It must be said that in 7 years on eBay, December is usually my poorest month for sales, either because I sell mainly "for you" items rather than gifts, or because buyers don't expect to be able to receive an item in time. I really focused on November for December parties and gift-giving.

On the website side of things.....

I am a little disappointed all around. The traffic before Thanksgiving and after weren't anything like my last year stats, but higher then the summer stats. I have noticed in the last month that I have sold more per customer then last year. And what I have sold has been alot of summer items-like bright and wild polyester 70's shirts and some 70's capri pants, alot of toys and books. The last 2 sales that I sold books and toys in did tell me that they were Xmas presents. I had several customers that buy from me in October and the first of Novemeber and told me they were Xmas presents.

I have winter items on my site and they have been looked at but havent been bought.

Last year for me January and February were my best months ever to sell. I am keeping my fingers crossed that will be the case this year. That way the money I make from these months can tie me over the summer until the sales pick up again.

mine are worst ever....attic and ebay...as l havent until last week been able to add new gear...and make a big splash early enough so l guess lve misssed the boat!! I shall concentrate on 5th birthday and a promotion in Feb 2007 ANd get the new site ready to launch asap....thank goodness l have a 'real' job also!!

Disappointing to say the least. I remember a time when I could list 10 pieces of vintage and was almost guaranteed to sell at least 8 regardless of the time of year. I think the market is so saturated you have to really be listing constantly to get the return buyers and what you do have up better stand out! I am going to switch from vintage and sell off some collectibles left over from my antique booth. I need some Christmas cash!!

Ebay is a lottery, website has been doing OK these past few weeks but big party dresses, and velvet has been the key.

Tends to be the more attention my ebay stuff gets the more lookers come to the website, so I find it's worth featuring one interesting thing when I do bother to list at auction (which has been less lately).

As a buyer, I am after OTT gold glittery stuff and mini dresses that I can wear as tunics (again, preferably sparkly!). And anything beaded :)
