Prairie Dress, a la Ralph Lauren?

I'm sure this isn't worth much, but would you consider this to be a Lauren-like prairie dress? At least, I think it was Ralph Lauren who more or less pioneered the prairie look? Would that have been mid 70's? It is lightweight ultra suede, and has a separate petticoat attached at the dropped waist, instead of a faux petticoat. And do you like it with the non-matching belt? (Personally I like the wider belt, but am showing it with both the matching belt and the other.)

It is NOS w/tag!

This is my favorite type of dress!! I am a country girl at heart so I tend to dress that way.... :)

I like the other belt more. It really makes the dress pop. Just show a picture with the original belt and then the one you added. The other belt gives it a more modern twist to today's fashion.

really great dress and I think it could do very well price wise. It looks 80's to me but a good quality 80's. I dont usually go for the big belt look but with this style, that belt adds a nice country rustic touch and looks great.

Thanks, everybody, for your input! I really like the dress, too, and would definitely have worn it when it was in style the first time around. The wide belt won't be included in the auction, as it's a little too large for the dress--I had to clip it at the back. But I think I might have a similar belt a little smaller, and will note in the listing that a wide vintage belt will be included, though not the one shown. I have a slew of these wide chunky-hardware belts and am not quite sure what to do with them.....

I remember this look as being part of the early 80s Urban cowboy chic, c. 1982? I remember the petticoat ruffles showing at the bottom and the slightly puffed sleeves. I recall cowboy boots were THE thing to wear with them, as well as cowboy hats...
